whats this on my coil??????

i have a 1979-80 atc 110 with points and it needs a coil
does it need one with the cylinder like thing with a wire coming out of it?

what is it?

I think what you are describing is a condenser. It is needed to make your points last longer so I would plan on running one

Rule of thumb with points and condensers, if you change one, change the other.
