Looking to buy paddles for the 200x and have a question about paddle tire size. Is a taller tire better or a shorter tire better for traction. Maybe this is a dumd question but I have never rode in the sand that actually needed a paddle tire before.

Also is there a difference in paddle tire tread heights? I seen pictures around and it seems some have taller and some are shorter. Which is better. Not talking brands here just real world experiences.

it all depends on the bike and the use. generally taller for drag bikes with deep straight cut paddles. for most riders that want an all around dune tire v cuts are normally recommended, allows for easier skidding and turning. depending on your mods I'd recommend dune sliders they won't rob much power and still give great traction.

I have tried about any paddle you can think of on a 200x, my #1 pick is a 6 paddle 20x10x8 skat trak hauler. The sand here isn't flat, lotta bowls and climbing. Now don't get me wrong I love sliding on v paddles, but the 200x just doesn't have the power to climb and then slide the bowls like a 350x/250r does. With the haulers I can get everywere, and while it is harder to slide, it will make it up around the bowls.

I've run those same haulers on 185s and 200x's for years and agree, they are probably the wisest choice in my opinion.
