Yea, At least an explanation or my freshly painted 87 200X tank. I wanna try to get ahold of him or find out where he is these days.
From one of the last times i talked to him he had everyones stuff done just couldnt afford shipping everything. then he made the post on here a month or so ago and it seems that things werent what they seemed. With no further explanations. He owes me a painted fender, which he said he was going to paint the next coming up weekend then he disappeared.

again, you get what you pay for...just seeing his pictures of how he paints stuff should have set off 100000 red flags

Yeah, but not one of those red flags said rip off. If you noticed one that did, you should have said something.
None of us is griping about his quality of work, well we might if we ever get it.

He is having a real hard time right now. I can understand every ones anger, but if you put your self in his shoes you would understand. And by the way, coming from some one who has seen his work first hand his quality is far beyond most shops.

I like syko. as a suggestion, I think if he was to come online and tell everyone if they want their stuff to cover shippign returned he will return it, that would be fine. I think people are not upset at him for the issue of not beign able to do the work, but for not returning the stuff peroid.
syko, if ya can man, contact the customers 1 at a time and have them send you exact shipping to return their stuff painted or not. that way they at least have it back.

^ I agree, at this point everyone should make other arrangements and send him some $$ to get the stuff back.
I'm sure Alan wants the work, especially if things are that bad but it may take him some time to get back on his feet.
Things happen, sometimes people even die or go to jail whilst they have your items and it can be tough to get it all figured out.
I'm sure he's not ignoring anyone purposely.................

He is not ignoring any one. The last time he tried to be open and deal with this people on here started bashing him. I would have said to hell with it as well.

I don't know him and have never dealt with him, but I have seen his work. I would have to respectfully disagree with lonesome, what I saw was sub-par.
Dammit!

My tank looks good. Very good actually. Too bad my gas cap leaks like crazy and kind of messed up the paint around the cap but that's not his fault.

I do not know what you saw, but everything I have seen has been top notch. Every one has a bad day from time to time. Let me refrase that. I have seen a couple of cars where the customer wanted him to spray over the inperfections. That was not his fault though.

I would have to resectfully disagree with the "to hell with it" part - that in my opinion would be dishonest/stealing from fellow members...not cool. If someone bashes you it does not give you the right to screw them over. I'm not saying that is Alan's position but if it is, that is all wrong.
Taken straight from his thread he posted 3 weeks ago,in the Open forum!
I havnt been on.... plain and simple my life is in shambles right now
I lost my job back in early june... well no big deal... well guess what... I still dont have a steady job
second I got shafted by a company that hired me and had me get all ready to start only to resend my app and no job
third threw a costly mistake I screwed up my bank account loosing all my money and adding on nearly 500 dollars in over charges effectivly loosing all the money I had set aside for shipping for everyones stuff... thats right I lost everyones money.
fourth nearly all my utilities got cut off I only managed to keep my cell phone on for a bit to keep up with emails from potential job offers
Im not asking ANYONE for their pitty becouse I dont need it, I dont even care if you dont want to understand, there is nothing worse then the Sh1t im dealing with allready so if you got a problem oh well you got a problem.
AS soon as I get on my feet again I will get EVERYONE handled...
Alan... out.
ps... anyone near Tyler TX?
I think it is pretty clear to see, that he has probably lost internet contact.
He made that clear 3 weeks ago, and I checked his log in time and guess what..
I understand your frustration, but starting thread after thread about it, isn't going to resolve anything at this time.
I will bet you will get your parts back, ASAP.
Until then, you may want to implement a back-up plan.
Heck, I owe HIM parts, and I can't contact him either.
As far as his work is concerned, he did get a bad batch of materials at one time, which resulted in do-overs.
My tank was one of them.
However, my 74 ATC 70 tank, is holding up awesome, and it is over a year old.

I bet if the guys that did have problems started talking then the story would be different. And whats with no contact at all? Don't have a a couple quarters for a pay phone, don't know anyone with a phone, internet? I mean come on its 2009. Not 1899...Even Amish have phones now...But then again I'm just the arsehole. I'm being negative. Rest assured if you were getting boned you'd be upset. If you met him or not. Know him or not. Its business.

This is a bit different than someone just blowing you off to gain a few $$. When things get that bad in your own life, lets see if you give two shits about contacting someone over a p.o.s. tank they wanted redone that you weren't making a dang bit of profit on to begin with. I know Allen personally and he wouldn't do anyone this way without a dang good reason. Im sure he will make it right to the best of his ability asap.
You see, I have been boned...By members on this forum.
Try being out 450$ and a Tri-Z engine....shens :welcome:
Or how about the some 400 bucks I have been jilted out of other parts, and seats?
Or how about the 1200$ in parts I have been left with, from another ATV forum for some custom stuff?
Still, I dont go running around starting threads about it!

Time for facebook, time for three wheeler parts.
Dammit!

I'm closing this thread and anymore of them that get posted because they will follow the same pattern that these threads always follow. People that don't even have a dog in the fight will pile on and make it a bashfest.
I hope you guys get your parts. I also hope everything is getting better for syko so he can eventually do right by everybody.

To everybody thats waiting on parts, I'll say this. I've known Alan for a few years now and hung out with him many times, we are pretty good friends. He is going through some extremely tough financial times right now. I've contacted him and encouraged communication with everyone. I do not have reasons or excuses as to why there hasn't been contact made with those of you waiting on stuff. I will try to keep in contact with him and keep him thoughtful of everyone's stuff.
