Oh and how important are Radiator shrouds?? They don't fit on my Clarke oversize tank ...
I wish i could find an exhaust that fit well on my bike and didn't get loose or require "adjusting" to fit correctly....

The silencer doesn't fit on the pipe right, had to cut the expansion chamber back 2 inches and put a custom bend in the silencer... Still not quite right. And does not like to sit on the exhaust flange without leaking

Sounds like you have a TRX silencer????? The TRX silencer needs a tweek to fit properly. Also, most pipe's need the rubber mounts to make everything fall Into the correct place. If you just try to mount the pipe straight to the frame RIGID, they usually won't fit for trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro :D :beer :beer

Dunno...
Could be. Just tired of trying to get everything to fit right.
Supposed to have a cobra silencer on the way.
for the flange, I bought an o-ring flange for my '85R and coudn't be happier. it seals great and you can adjust it like you're talking and it says sealed.

I've got a dual o ring billet flange and it still leaks.
I cut 2 inches off the stinger and used a piece of galvanized steel for a pipe mount and the stock mounts won't fit on my silencer for some reason.
Makes me want to punch babies in the face and tell them to man up.

I also need a gasket or whatever the seal is inside the fuel petcock.
Is there any way to clean a gas tank out that has set for a while?

I'd try a good pressure washer, then slosh some carb cleaner around and PW again.....
I'm sure other solvents eat gas, but carb cleaner works very well in small amounts.
Also, like Jason touched on; You'll never get it mounted nice without the rubber mounts. You may get it on there but things will crack in time, best to get some mounts on there and do it right but were all different in our opinions of "right".........

Yeah, im gonna put the rubber mounts back on, the Galvanized metal was a temporary fix until i could get back to the "Parts Stash"
