Would there any benefit to venting the valve cover on a 200cc Honda engine? It seems like it builds an awful lot of pressure...

I rebuilt my engine but obviously didnt use the proper gasket material as now there is a slight weepage where the valve cover meets the head. I don't really want to pull the engine to fix it right now.

You should be able to pull the valve cover off without pulling the engine. It will be tight getting your tools in there but it can be done.

It's an 84 200ES.. i had to pull the studs that go from the top of the head down to the block out in order to do it the first time. It was a giant pain in the trailpro trailpro trailpro and don't really have the time to do it right now...

It must be different than the other 200 engines then, since they do have the studs that do into the bottom end but have just 4 little allen head bolts holding on the valve cover.

I vented the upper valve cap on my atc70. It was weeping oil also and that helped. My engine was totally rebuilt using Honda parts and gaskets. The reason it had weepage was from cranking it to ten to twelve thousand rpm's when I'm racing it. I just drilled and tapped the cap to accept a brass fitting with a barbed end for a hose. I ran the hose up under the tank.:beer

On my 200m I could only get the valve cover off about a 1/4" without removing the motor, or the studs.

On my old 200e, I had the motor out of it about 4-5 times. The last couple times I had it out only took me about 20 minutes to get it out.
