So I bought an old '86 tecate racer, (short tracked, steering stop shaved, tank moved back, +3 swingarm, JP airbox, durablue lowering link, Durablue 4X4 hubs) with a strange axle, it appears to be stainless, with the older '84 '85 splines. You might say that it is just an '85 axle, but it has the larger bearings in the carrier, and it is definitly an '86 carrier.

When I brought it home, I thought that it had the conversion hubs that BGM has talked about in the past, but this axle is pretty custom. Anyone know what it is, or who made it?

Thats a JWR (Jimmy White Replica) axle. Made by JP Racing. Currently known as Durablue. HH

I have the exact same one - it came off a machine I bought a while back - had an 86 carrier on it too. No idea what it is, don't recall what hubs were on it (still have them though) and am not sure of the length either - definitely extended though. Anyway, I can probably check my old photos and determine the hubs. Not that I'm any help, just wanted to let you know there is more than (1) out there. Let me know if you get confirmation that it is a JP - always good to know that stuff. It'll be on a machine someday - when I get around to my reno's...

Heres a slight update. It's not stainless, it was chromed at one point giving me a fake stainless sheen. (someone had tried painting it, and scuffed it giving it a stainless look) So I guess I the question is nickle, chrome, or powdercoat?

Looked back at my photos - mine had definitely been chromed - it's all flaked off and in some stage of rusting - it ain't too pretty. Hubs looked to be stock on mine? Post up if you determine what it is. I can tell you that is different than the other extended axels I have collected and I'd love to know what it is. Again, for sure came with an 86 carrier on it.
