Model Numbers on 86 Tri-z Cases

Is there more than one place on the 86 engine that has the numbers that show what year the engine is? The one near the kick stand is scratched up some but it doesn't appears to be a 38. What numbers does the 86 start with. My 85 number starts with 38 I believe.
