:wondering i just got a 83 200 basket case. rewired it new plug, plug boot and coil wire. ohmed out coil, pulse generator, alternator, and checked and set air gap. tryed two different cdi units (dont know if both are bad) still no spark

check ground for your coil.

Check your stator, mine just crapped out, and i lost spark from it...

Is the rotor turning when you crank it over? Sometimes the drive pin falls out. I'd start testing the harness and checking the connections.

Start backward from the spark plug, wire by wire, connection by connection with a ohm meter. Just did that with my 350x, and even the cdi unit appeared to be ok, it's the only thing that could be bad at this point.
I metered three different 1985 cdi units like the manual shows and none of them were really the same. :confused: Just have to change it out and see if it works.

do a continuity test between the red/black wire coming from the alternator, to a known ground. if its good, starting checking wire continuity. Chase electrons till you find it.
