Hi,

I recently got an 82 honda 200 that hadn't been run for about 8 years. I rebuilt the carbeurator (replaced the jets/float valve/pilot valve etc.). The issue I seem to be having is that, unless I run it with the choke on, it won't idle down. When I have the choke off, it doesn't matter what I do with the pilot valve or the throttle stop screw, it won't idle down. I've gone back and taken the carb apart and re-cleaned everything but still no change in behaviour. Any ideas?

Sounds like the carb slide is sticking or you have a air leak between the carb and head.

I went and took another look about 10 minutes after I posted and feel pretty stupid right about now. The actual throttle cable just needed adjusting. Can't believe I missed that.
