Hey im not sure but someone told me the other day that if you leave the gasket that goes between the cylinder and bottom end out and jus put some silicone on it to seal it up the piston will go a bit higher and youll get more compression out of it. Is this true? Thanks alot, collin

Don't do it !!. Put the cylinder base gasket their and don't use any sealer because if you get sealer in the oil passage you can kiss you top end good BYYYYY . Your not gaining enough to make a difference .

i dont agree.. you would probably see a pretty good jump in power. but shortline is right you would most likely destory your top end. witch is not worth it regardless.

you could have the head machined instead. keep the gasket and have the same result without destroying your top end.

what do u mean by machined? u mean ported and polished?

No...get it milled...so there is less clearance between TDC and the head...

well how far can u go? i mean wouldnt that make the spark plug closer to the piston?

You need to use clay one top of the piston to find out how much clearance you have now.

if you need higher compression use a weisco 10.25:1 or 12:1 piston .... If this is your plan then spending cash should not be a big concern to you as you will be spending around $1000 on your motor and buying race gas for it .... want a good running reliable motor? keep it stock or use a xr cam/carb and a good exhaust

Don't let the person that told you to use silicone in lieu of a gasket ever lay a finger on your trike.

no im just putting in a stock compression piston and a tork cam and a pipe. i want it to be nice and reliable

reliability is a result of proper care of the trike. lots of people have reliable performance trikes..

yea i know this im just on a budgit ya know lol im 16 and just goin on saved money. I ordered a .20 over stock compression piston, got one of my cylinders bored, bought a big al's tork cam from shortline10, just ordered a timing chain, and now im looking for a resonably priced exhaust system.

You are on the right track. most of us has been in and out of a 200x engines and can help you a great deal along the way. Especially dirtcrasher, he has them memorized from the top down, side ways over, down to top etc etc and are new addition shortline impresses me everyday with his vast knowledge from back in the day

. i might have an exhaust lying around so pm me later. Also, never ditch something critical to gain a bit of power unless you have deep pockets to back it up. If you let these engines breath right then they really wake up and it sounds like your on the right track for that.
