HI , i got a 1984 250r atc that just slows to a stop. Now it does this with the front and back brakes. I have bled the front and rears the traditional way of bleeding and i also used a mityvac to get all the air out. So i know i don't have air in the lines. The resevoirs cups are always filled with brake fluid letting no air in the lines. Ok so I have also greased the sliders and greased the pistons up. The pistons and seals are brand new with no leaking. The pads are brand new galfer pads . I rebuilt the master cylinders so there brand new also. In the master cylinders I have a brand new piston with brand new seals. I'm pretty smart when it comes to all this stuff and can't figure out whats going wrong with my brakes. Why are the brakes sliding to a stop. The bike won't even hold me on a hill like a 660 raptor quad would. the rotor is brand new also i figured that may be it but nope still happening. My main question is could it be that the bike was manufactored to stop like this in 1984? If you seen me trailprotrailpro i've updated my info. by doing new stuff. I striving for different opinions. :w00t:

have you checked to see if the pads are glazed?

How much time do you have on the brake pads? Also, what compound are the pads? I know the pads for my motorcycle took a certain amount of time to break in before it would stop correctly...

The ones I've riden, 250r's and 350X's the brakes aren't the best, but you should be able to lock up the rear and I could never get the fronts to lock up. Are you sure master is sealed (pinched o-ring)? +1 on rotor glazed. Beets

The pads are brand new there made out of sintered metal. No riding time on them at all except for testing.

The pads aren't glazed i wish that was my problem.

Beets, there are 2 crush washers on each side of the brake line pinched tightly with no leaks.
