What does the fuel pump hose hook to on the engine that creates vacume? Im putting my tri moto 175 top end on my 125 bottom end and was wondering if the hose connects to the cylinder or the crankcase? I hope it has nothing to do with the bottom end :wondering

I believe it is a 175 thing to have the vacuum line on the bottom end, but I don't even use a fuel pump for my 175 cylinder and have no problems

shouldnt need it on that unit. tank is above the engine... plus fuel pumps suck

The 175 fuel pump has two lines that come off of it. One hose goes to carb gas inlet. The other hose coming off the fuel pump is connected to the reed block on the 83 175, and on the 82, it connects behind the reed cage on the left side, actually on the jug where there is a fitting. Look at the reed block, and you will see the fitting im talking about. Im not sure why the change, but I know the 82 175 has a much smaller reed block then the 83, and the 83 uses the same reed block as the later year tri moto 125's. The 82 175 shares the earlier yt 125 reed design, from 80-81? But on the two 175's I had, I would deffinatly know when the fuel pump came disconnected from the reed fitting, because it would run boggy, and never want to idle. Connect it, and problem solved!
