Rebuild carb now drips fuel when not running?

Just rebuild carb on my 1984 200ES. Runs great now but when not running it drips fuel from the hose at the bottom of the carb. What went wrong?

Sounds like your needle is still sticking....is the drain screw tight?

Leaky needle+seat, or a sticky float, float could be set wrong too, or a a bad o-ring on the floatbowl drain ,Shut your fuel off when its parked.

whats the best way to check if float or set wrong how do you adjust them

on my 250es BR I had to shim where the needle is held in the float to get mine set right...

Generally you can set the seam of the floats parallel with the gasket surface of the carb and that will get you in the ballpark. But more than likely your needle needs to be replaced.

Most are set off the height of the carb body Surface., where the bowl meets the carb, Old brass ones you can bend, Some you can bend the actual Float pin, I suppose you could shim it too, but i have never run into that before, You need to take a look at a Manuel for the bike, it tells all! :beer

if you are using the stocker float, there is no adjustment. the needle seat coudl be gooped up still. take it appart, and take a thick paper towel, take some carb cleaer and squire itin the needle seat hole and let it soak, then spray sone on the paper towel corner and shove it into the hole turning it and workign it as much as you can to clen it. I had to do this on my big-red carb as the seat had a bunch of buildup and kept the needle seal from sealing correctly. once done, it shoudl help.
