What's up ? I wanted to know what kind of gearing to use? I have a 85 250r and I want to use 18x10x8 tires, but I want the same speed it has. Its all stock I just want to run the tires thanks on any help.

stock gearing is 13/39...... if you want more top end get a 14 tooth front sprocket, if you want more low end get a 12..... you can start taking away and adding teeth to the rear from there to fine tune it to your liking

right, to keep the top end speed with 18 inch tires you will definatly want to go up at least one tooth in the front, maybe two (if it fits??)

Well if it were me, to keep cost down I would go with a 14 tooth front sprocket.
If that's not enough, like said before drop teeth on the rear sprocket, but rear sprockets are a little more costly

If you are going to run 18's for trail riding, you better consider ground clearance. I dont know what kind of trails are around you, but around here there is a lot of brush, logs, uneven ground, sticks, rocks, etc. I wouldnt go under a 20'' tire for trail riding, but thats just me, and my riding conditions. Just somthing to consider.....................

Bump it up to a 14 in the front..you can run 15T there but it's close, I don;t know if the case saver will fit then...
