I have a 1984 dx225. The problem is..... the bike starts and runs fine, but if you ride it and tip it up on 2 wheels to the left it almost instantly dies out. If you tip it up the other way to the right you can ride for days! Also if your riding it you can go wide open through all the gears and it will run fine, but if you get in some trails and are going slow and bouncing around it will start backfiring and cutting out. I usually stop and let it idle for a bit, then it takes back off again. I have cleaned the carb twice now and am for certain every jet in it is clean. I have ran it with no air box hooked up...same thing. I have tried just about everyhting i can think of. Any help would be great. Thanks

Sounds like it could possibly be a wiring issue. Take off the tank, and see if there isnt a bad connection or damaged wire making contact with somthing it shouldnt. Also, the kill switch can do wierd things sometimes before it goes out completely. Try unhooking it from the wiring harness, along with lights (same housing) and give it a try. If it didnt help, then you know thats not the problem. Good Luck!
