that sucks man well u can take the head bolt out and remove the head or u can just take the 4 base bolts off and removing the cylinder and head all together but that your call all so i recommend using a 6 point 14mm wrench to remove the base bolt so u dont strip them out but u might have a blown head or base gasket which would cause it to have no compression
so if i take the 4 bolts off it should just come off or is there more to it???
u think it the head so i probably need new piston kit. the piston is completly black i looked down the spark plug hole(with flaslight.lol). some guys say sometimes its just the gasket??

yeah take the 4 base bolt off and should slide right off u may have to tap on it with a rubber mallet but thats how i did my 83r engine but yeah it could be just a gasket because the way it sounds to me it runs right then heats up which causes everything to expand and would cause an air leak which is y it has no compresson
ok im going to try that. thanks for the help buddy

yeah no problem
hey just took it off piston got messed up on the exhaust side the actual motor sleeve thing isnt bad at all. so next question is how to remove piston and how to know what size to order. it has a number on top of piston 2125J ???

too remove the piston use needle nose pliers and take out the clips that hold the wrist pin in then slide out the wrist pin as for the size of the piston if the cylinder is standard bore which is 70mm then you would just get a standard piston but to be sure you can measure the diameter of the piston with a dial caliper
ok so no markings then. thanks again

Measure your cylinder before you go and buy the same size piston you had in there, you may need to have it bored,Don't just assume that your cylinder is still in spec, also your airleak could also be coming from the oilseal behind your stator so change that to before your throw a new piston in there or you could be pulling it apart very soon again,if you've had it for a few years and done nothing but drove it then perhaps its time to tear it right down and give it some love
yeah think i will since im at it. not sure what oil seal your mentioning though

yeah think i will since im at it. not sure what oil seal your mentioning thoughPull your magnet and stator off theres a oil seal behind it,it keeps the pressure and gas/oil charge in the crankcase,if it wears out you will suck air in creating a lean condition

also if it doesnt have any grooves or deep scratches make sure you atleast hone the cylinder so the new rings have somthing to seat them. Use a inside micrometer and measure the top of the jug front to back them measure left to right, then do it in the middle of the jug and at the bottom, this insures the jug isnt out of spec so you dont have piston slap.
took the head to machine shop and just my luck needs new sleeve its been bored out to much .800$ bill oh well never selling this one
