I was riding my 200x (84 model) and it was going great, then all of a sudden it just dies......and wont start for about 10 minutes....then it runs fine for another hour or 2 and same problem......could it be my Stator?

probably not. Check your carb clean it out also clean your fuel filter

already have.....still does the same thing....I have a Dg pipe, bored .050.......and my main jet is a 108......is this making it too lean??? what size jet should i put in it?

my tecate did that for a while then i decided to figure out what it ws and fix it :oops: it was my coil.....shot from a previous stator BBQ :x

I know you have probably checked this already. but just in case.

My 84 big red did this for a while. It has a metal tank with the twist vent in the gas cap. That vent tends to go bad. when the tank is not vented the fuel locks up and doesnt go anywhere. when the pressure goes away after a little while, runs fine again.

Might not be the problem, but it gave me a hell of a headache for a while. so I just drilled a tiny hole in the gas cap and it hassnt done it since. probably not the correct fix, but works.

I had one of my caps do the same thing. It wouldn't vent in the ON or OFF possition. If I had it in between the two it would work fine. Weird.

I have heard of that gas cap thing on an old 185 that a friend of mine had. It creates a vacuum on the tank after a while and starves it for gas and dies. After it sits awhile the vacuum leaks down and it will start the process all over again. It did it so bad that you couldn't get the gas cap off for NOTHING! :-P Check it out
