Working all the bugs out now, got a new muffler, new plug. changed the oil, cleaned the carb, i can shift into all 5 gears while statonarty no problem, but when moving it wont upgear 90% of the time. but i can indavidualy put it into any of the 5 gears. and go. i have been letting it stay in 3rd to play on. any 1 know what the problem is?

Maybe the clutch adjustment is not right?? or check to see if the lever is not stripped on the "rod" not too sure just offering a reply for ya ;)
btw when you can shift does it shift hard? or soft? sloppy?? explain a little more please

i can pop it into any of the 5 gears i want while im not moving. and the bike is running. when i pop it into ANY of the gears it tug the bike very gently for a split second, then i can hop off in any gear. while idling. take offs are very smooth just cant change gears up while moving.

sounds like you need a new stopper pawl.. do a search on it. common problem on these bikes. easy and cheap $7 part.
