Need Help Finding Vin On Yamahauler!!

I just spent 20 min looking for the vin on my yamaha and cannot find it. All I found was the frame number and the motor number.

Where is the vin located up by the head light I found the frame number but didnt see the vin.

I would love some help finding this vin so I can reg this trike.

Are you sure because when I run that vin on the reg site it doesn't come up with anything. I serched on here and found some posts of yama's with full vins like the hondas.

They changed over to 17 digits like everyone else eventually, not sure what year. I have the 9 digit numbers on a few of mine too. Never tried to register them.

I think they changed to 17 digits in 85 (according to this old trike registry).

Thanks for the picture out of the manual but the only numbers I can pull of the bike are the frame number and motor number.

But it is now registered using the frame number. In WI you can use the frame number, it just doesn't fill in the make, year, engine size ...

That's why I posted the page from the manual. It says the frame serial number IS the same as the VIN. So, in reality, you registered with the VIN.
