I was riding today (84 200es) and noticed that I can definately hear my piston goin up and down. A clicking sound -- It's done this since I got it (I think) and runs fine otherwise. Anyone?-- I don't have another to compare it to.

Sounds to me like 1 of these problems.......

1. Piston Slapping (as you mentioned)

2. Cam chain (slapping)

3. Rod bearings

4. valves (possibility)

Those are a few that came to mind....let me know the progress you have in finding this problem....

mine does that but it dosent bother me........... it only gets to me when im spotlighting on it !!!!!!!!!!!!
