I run 32:1 in my w/c 250r. Any decent 2-stroke oil will work fine.(klotz, amsoil, belray) Just don't use the cheap stuff form wal-mart.

I'm no expert or professional but if I could give you some advice - once you start 'jetting' your machine pick a gas/oil ratio and stick with it during and after you get it jetted to where it's running strong.

If you're buying 91 octane @ your local place and mixing 32:1 with say Amsoil mix - stick with that combination as long as it keeps working for you. That way - if the bike starts acting funny down the road your gas/oil mix will be one variable you won't have to consider.

Good luck!

i like yamalube 2r. I am running it 32:1 in my 84 fl250.

Best part of 2r is its only 5 bucks a quart at my local shop.

Oh yay! A thread on oil! This must be the first time somebody has started a thread on oil.......today.

Now let's all chime in tell everybody what kind of oil we use and how we love how it smells and so on and so on. The threads on oil are the best!

by telling him to read the manual are you saying he should mix at 20:1 by 1984 standards?

Not neccisarrily read the manul, I just wanted to use that emoticon...

What I should have said was to use the search feature. The amount of threads on oil are just ridiculous. If you look, you will see there is already another thread on two stroke oil somebody started just a few minutes ago. Call it a pet pieve.

WHY is yamalube 2r not good oil? I would think if it was bad, yamaha wouldnt endorse it and their race teams wouldnt run it.

It is good oil and i have never had a problem with it. The 2s is not much good for anything in my opinion, but i dont understand why a synthetic oil designed for a high demand engine would be a bad oil.

THIS IS WHY OIL THREADS SUCK. PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT MOST OF THE TIME.
