Well last night my roomate did. He's been talking about wanting to learn to ride a motorcycle so i thought it would be good for him to learn how to use the clutch on something with more than 2 wheels first. Well after explaining to him in great detail everything i could on how to use the clutch and everything, he still screws it up. Note that i have tought many people how to ride before without a problem and he also already knows how to drive a standard car. Anyway, he ended up wheelying my 200x right into the front of the neighbors car. Luckily the guy was understanding and not too upset. There is minimal damage to his car but the kicker is that it's a civic hybrid, so I'm sure the headlight assembly will be way overpriced and hopefully they will be able to pound that dent out of the hood. I can't help but feel somewhat responsible as i shouldn't have had him try it in the driveway and i should have had him start out in 2nd gear. We'll try it again tonight but in an open field this time.

Just the tail light assembly on my VW was nearly 300 bucks. Good luck.

i was driving along my parents property i was looking at the highway and all the sudden smack i hit a 100$ pear tree and snapped it right over. well the folks were ticked but the tree is still alive to this day. i redkneck fixed it with a few pipe clamps and some rope to stop it from blowing over. i have never hit a vehicle though thank fully

I had a similar experince. I let my GF ride my 185s. She grew up riding her grandpas big red. So I thought "She will be fine" WRONG!! lol She took off out of the drive way and ran into 2 fence posts within 45 seconds lol. Wrecked up my 185 real good lol. She was ok though.

What did your buddy think? Is he excited to try again?

Yeah, he's up for trying it again. He was just a little too upset to try it again last night. Hopefully tonight he can get it figured out. I'm hoping to get him hooked on atv's or bikes that way I'll have another riding buddy.

I think teaching people on sand or loose dirt is nice. then the clutch seems a little more forgiving.

When i was about 15 I took my 250sx down our culdesac in California for a ride. My mom came outside a little mad that I was riding it on the street. I hustled it in between the trailer and my moms car in the driveway, and sideswiped her car with the 250sx.

Then there was the time I put oil on the stove to heat to cook some shrimp and went across the street to the neighbors house.

Yeah, I've done some stupid things. :D

I had a set of brand new tires put on my 93 Dyna Wide Glide, and when i left i was messing around, and i laid the bike down in the parking lot.... about 20 feet from where i started.

Cost me about $300 Between the covers, handlebars, grip cap, clutch lever, tail light.

Nah... Never done ANYTHING stupid in my life....
Just put a new pipe on my 350X, fresh painted tank, brand new plastics, rebuild and rejetted the carb, had the seat being redone at the upholstry shop... Had to take it for a ride... In the rain... Without a seat and rear fenders... On pavement... Boy did it wheelie... Brought it over backwards, while doing a stand up... Trashed the tank, and the bars, and the headlight guard, and the new front fender, and the headlight switch, and the valve on the top of one of the forks, and my brand new grab bar, and my favorite jeans, and the tops of both my knees, and my belt buckle, and my wrists... All on thursday afternoon... With a weekend ride planned for Friday. SOB!
