250sx took my leg out, mainly my fault for trying to shift into gear with the idle too high and it wheeling over me. trip to the ER last night, over 80 stiches i guess.

TheFamer
07-20-2009, 09:48 PM
i didnt lose too much blood, just skinned alive, it was about maybe 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch deep in places. they talked about doing skin grafting, thanks everyone i will be take it easy and rest up

TheFamer
07-20-2009, 09:57 PM
he said there is more than one stitch per spot, something like a corss mattress pattern. he said there was a lot of them in there.

yeah duck tape would have been helpful, lol.

the stupidest part is on our way up to the hospital we had our hazard lights on and trying to get up there, (small 2 lane highway all the way up the island) we got behind a off duty cop who called us in and we got pulled over like a 1/2 mile from the hospital, he asked why we were driving so crazy i said i had a accidental, he said i dont see anything, so i pulled my leg out the door showed him the damage and he got back in his car and followed us all the way up.

funnier than that, the cop that pulled me over is the brother of the owner of the 3 wheeler so his dad owned it. lol small world on this island.

damn bro, so what did you actually catch with your leg? kickstarter? foot peg? handlebar?

TheFamer
07-20-2009, 10:34 PM
pretty sure it was just the tire turning on my skin

mmiguy2103
07-20-2009, 10:46 PM
wow lol i am surprised a tire could do that lol to me looks like you caught something on the bike,

i remeber when i was youger i was kickstarting a old honda cl360 and my boots i was wearing(walmart) tore right in teh middle of the sole and the kickstarted went right through it and into my foot, not as bad as yours but gave me about 15 stiches lol

HOLY CHIT!!!!!!!!!!

Am I reading this wrong or was it the peg?

And thats with "Dull" stock SX pegs....??

I can only imagine what the friggen Hagen pegs would do to Deepa, I honestly think they could severely injure him if it went BAD!!

No offense meant towards anyone making sharp pegs but man, we're just skin ya know!!

I hope you heal up well my friend :D

Keep it clean and take care!!

Dude that is nasty!

everytime I go to the ER with a trike injury, I say I was mountain biking.

Learned that trick from a ole friend, ill be damned if Im going to give them another stat!

Well - looking at this finally convinces me I need to pony up for some real MX style boots.

I wish you a speedy recovery fellow triker and only hope, if nothing else, you posting this convinces other idiots like myself that proper riding gear is created for a good reason.

Wow. Glad to see you'll be alright and hopefully be recovered soon!

I had a good wreck on my SX once; the more I think about and see stuff like this I realize how amazing it was that I wasn't hurt more!

no pants. just shorts and a tee shirt, i havent looked really close at the machine since i did this, its hard to get around my own house let alone walking outside to check it out.

my friend said there was blood on the tire and seat, he didnt see anything else. i have mx boots, i worn them when i went riding last week, did not think about wearing them for the 20 mins i was working on the machine. but i really should have.

i am on whidbey island, a little south of vashon island, yeah i said it was a atv tire, tried to hide the fact about it being a 3 wheeler. that mountain bike story would have been a good one.

be safe out there, i have wheelied over my trikes many time with no injury, it only takes one wrong move to get you scarred up like this.

Holy sh!t! That is by far the worst I have seen. I opened that up and could not hit the close button fast enough. I did not even bother to open the other 2. I don't usually ride with riding boots, but I will now!! Hoep it gets better quick.

Ahh, I love a good scar. It would be interesting to see video footage of exactly what happened there, kinda crazy to think a tire did that. Heal up & like Brapp said, don't let it get infected. You might end up in the hospital w/ an IV of antibiotics!
