So I was online at work, just thinking about 3 wheeling and what not and whether I should sell my Trike because its been quite allusive. It has had a serious plug carbon fouling problem which I could not solve since when I first bought the atc. I read an article about how 2 stroke oil would surpass the piston causing awful carboning. So I thought to myself, I havent changed the oil and what if the prior owner put 2 stroke oil in there. So I went home and changed out the oil, and sure enough I havent fouled a plug yet. Just wanted to let you guys know and thanks for prior help. Lesson learned: Never assume anything when buying a new toy. :TrikesOwn

Wait
.... What? 4 stroke oil in the gas or what?

Or a 4 stroke with 2 stroke gas in it?

I always change fluids and gas in my new toys when I get them. You never know someone else's intelligence level.

It doesn't hurt to change the spark plug and clean the air filter on a newly aquired machine either.

I cant confirm it, but I think the previous owner put 2 stroke oil in in the crankcase. I rebuilt the entire carb, replace air filter. Im just happy its running :)

Dammit!

Depending on the type of 2-stroke oil, there's nothing wrong with using it in the tranny on a 2-stroke engine. You can use Klotz R-50 as tranny oil.

What kind of trike is it?

I think he's saying he has a 4-stroke trike and believes the p.o. put 2-stroke oil in it.
