Opinions on handlebars

I've mounted the new handlebars on my 250SX rebuild. Here's a couple of pics, one with the crossbar installed, one without. The problem with the crossbar is it covers most of the ignition panel and blocks the view of the R/N lights from the seat. Would you just leave the crossbar off?

I'd leave the crossbar pad on there. Shouldn't you KNOW when you are in reverse or neutral. They call them idiot lights for a reason. :D

id keep it. if your good enough to ride a 250sx nicely then you should'nt need those lights.

You could do the bar without the pad.

I have been running aluminum bars from Rocky Mountain ATV, there brand is Tusk. I use the CR high and take the two clamps and bar off, scape the glue away and it looks great! I have them on 5 Tri-Z's, 200x, and ATC 250r.

I didn't use the R/N lights before the restore because they didn't work, so it's not that I need to see them. I was just thinking it would look a little more "stock" without the crossbar.

Can those mounting tabs be turned forward? What about making a new crossbar with some bends or a curve to clear the dash?

Those are the 40$ MSR bars, they work but they are cheap and thin. You will break the snot out of them without the crossbar :D

If you want to be slick and don't mind spending some time and $$, put 1-1/8h bar adapters on there, machine and or adapt them to accept the SX dash mount pins/grommets and run Pro Tapers :beer

I think that would be nasty.......
