Well, going to tackle this problem on my 84 200x finally!:wondering Her is a pic of innards.......... the problem, as I have posted befor is first gear will not always engage. I would say 30% of the time which was a little scary at Haspin on the hills at times:( :( Still looking for the term for the star looking part... can't seem to find it on diagram or I am overlooking it? Shall I start with this first?? Does seem worn or the shift lever that engages it?? What are the chances it is in the actual shift drum or a fork??? What would Threewheelerworld do?? Any help would be nice......going on a ride in August and need that 1st gear... http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo321/andyatc70/th_Picture412.jpg (http://s388.photobucket.com/albums/oo321/andyatc70/?action=view&current=Picture412.jpg)

Jag up the rear end, have someone roll the tires and shift away, the star is staring you in the face. Everytime you shift you'll see a lever rise and drop into the star, thats how you can tell if it's outside or you need to dig deeper. Thats when I take the shift shaft out and turn the star itself without the roller and spring hanging it up........
