Hi..I have a tri z 85 rear shocker,It's in good shape but i need to take of the spring so that i can re-spray it as it's badly chipped,Doe's anybody know if this can be done ? if so how hard is it to get the spring back on the shocker..or shall i just look around for a new one ..thanks

Use a rubber coated jaw vice, put spring clamps on the spring to take away the energy and remove the rings with a spanner wrench. You may need two. If you can remove them at all. Use some penetrating oil. You may have to use a special paint to resist the bending and movement of the spring.
