View Full Version : my 84250r won't kickstart help!

my trike will only start when my buddy towes me around the yard to get it to fire. we just rebuilt the carb and it has been sitting for a long time. it runs decent once started. i got it to kickstart once today after we got it running and hot. help please!

hmm....to small of a main jet? carb needle clip to low of a notch? air/gas mixture screw wrong? to hot of a spark plug?

does it have good compression?

it sounds like you do not have a nuff comprestion,i would check that first it should be around 100.

it's got enough compression i think. blows my thumb off the sparkplug hole on top of the jug. i don't know a lot about two strokers. haven't tried to put a gauge on it yet. the carb might definitely be where it's at! i don't know sqaut about carbs either!

I would run a compression test befroe you do anything else. That blowing your finger off the spark plug hole is a waste of time. I got burned by that test once and bought a couple parts I didn't need.

ran a compression test and it only reads 110. not the 145 at least that the clymer manual calls for. thanks guys! took the head off and the jug. my baby needs rings!
