The O ring chains are supposed to block out most of the grit and dirt from hitting the rollers, and claim to last longer. I would'nt diss the classic standard chain, because thats all I run. As with any chain, as long as you oil it ocasionally it will last. I have had standard chains last for years, because I oil them after every ride with WD-40, and clean with a wire brush at least once every 4 rides. If you want to go the cheaper route, just go with the standard chain, and always keep it lubed. Hope this helps.

O-ring chains are they way to go....X-ring chains are even better, but if you don't race all the time then theres no point.

i saw they have a W ring now as well with three points of contact on the ring. i'm just looking for the one that's going to last the longest.

The best chain is a Sidewinder, however for just trail riding I would get an O-ring or X-ring. The D.I.D's are great for the money. I would avoid the standard chains completely, especially on a higher horsepower machine.

Just get the cheap 20-30$ chain. Thats all i run on everything including my 500r. Ive never had a problem. Just lube it up before each ride.
