    Yamaha 225DX mods-rims,etc

    I'm looking for some simple mods that can be done to make a 225DX look sporty. I saw somewhere on here that Blaster hub splines will fit on the 225DX axle. Wanting to make sure on this. If this is so, what's a good tire size to go with? Is there an aluminum front rim that will fit? Any other mods that can be done it the 225?

    Blaster hubs do fit along with all other sport Yamaha atvs. 20 inch tires should make it look more sporty as well. A couple other things you could do is take the mud flaps off the front and rear fender, take the rear brake cover off, wheel spacers should help it look better.

    A few of use on the YTM 3 wheeler Facebook group are doing a group buy on aluminum blue label douglas wheels. They will be 8x8 with the 4+4 backspacing and 3x110 bolt pattern

    I've built my dx with a timberwolf engine and swingarm with a DG exhaust system. Its pretty fast for what it is. The timberwolf swingarm is 2 1/2 inches longer than stock. The timberwolf rear hub bolt pattern is 4x110 which allowed me to run some wheels and tires from a 400ex. Here's some pictures of my DX

    You can adapt the entire front end from a honda 200x. Makes the trike better in every way.

    I run raptor rear wheels and hubs.

    The timberwolf engine is really cool and dont take this the wrong way but it really isnt much of an improvement ove the stock engine besides having reverse and a low range. The extra 6cc does not produce any significant power upgrade. The easiest way to gain engine performance on a dx is by raising the compression, upgrading the exhaust, and tuning the carb for the mods.

    I only did my timberwolf engine swap because I picked up my dx with no top end and picked up the timberwolf as payment for some work I did for a friend. So it only made sense to do the swap. Now the swingarm is a bit of improvement over stock with the extra length. The only issue is making a new lower shock mount, finding a longer/ better performing shock or a combination of both.
